The beginning of shooting sports was by the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa king of the kingdom of Bahrain. At the beginning of the seventies, the Bahrainy team participated international competition in the UAE. Some of the most prominent shooters by then His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid AlMaktoum, Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates migraine Ruler of Dubai and His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa
 
The shooting sport in Bahrain began in a semi-structured way , whereas in 1977 a shooting team of the Bahrain Defence Force under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa and H E Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and a group of shooters that were shooting (22) mm in shooting fields and has participated in Switzerland in the same year. In 1980 The coach of the national coach team is max sparks (swiss), Later on, a team from the Ministry of Interior joined the shooting sports, headed by Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
 

With guidance from His Majesty the king of the kingdom of bahrain, HE Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa sent a letter on June 27, 1989 from the General Organization for Youth and Sports to the Ministry of Interior and to Bahrain Defense Force informing them of the desire of the General Organization for Youth and Sports to establish a committee to oversee the shooting sport in Bahrain.

 

At that period, the training was at awali shooting ranges, and shooting ranges of Bahrain Defence Force and the Ministry of the Interior. The team participated in the GCC competitions and international tournaments in Korea and at the United States of America in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 1984.

 

On November 5, 1991 a governmental decision issued by the President of the General Organization for Youth and Sports was made to organize the Bahraini Shooting committee.

The name of “Bahrain Shooting Committee” has changed to “Bahrain Shooting Federation” in 2000 under the chairmanship of Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa
